I have found the one whom my soul loves. ♥
-SONG OF SOLOMON 3:4
Howdy and welcome to the longest post ever in history… This is a long overdue post but I hope you’ll enjoy it as much as I’m enjoying sharing it with you. I married my soulmate before God on November 20th, 2016. We planned this wedding for an entire year and half! We put forth so much thought into every detail from the bridal and bridesmaid robes to the socks our groomsmen wore. Everything put together made it the best day ever!
Let’s get started with a few of my favorite bridals… let’s face it, most of them are my favorite but there’s no way I could post 90 bridal portraits!
Location: Laguna Gloria and Mount Bonnell (yes, I climbed all the way to the top in my huge dress!)
Photography: The Bird & The Bear
Now let’s get to the good stuff! I’ll start with some pictures of my Eddy K Couture wedding dress. It is a sweetheart neckline dress with a Swarovski crystal beaded bustier and organza horse hair skirt. My wedding dress meant so much to me since my grandma bought it for me and literally altered it from the top to bottom! She also made my cathedral veil with an angel cut (second tier cut). ♥
How gorgeous is the gold sequin hanger?! You’ll be surprised to hear my cousin Jessica made it just for me! I think it came out perfect!
I probably spent way more time than I should have trying to find the PERFECT wedding day robe! Alas, I found my dream robe and it was this unique Le Rose lace robe with a train from Australia. My grandma altered the train so it wouldn’t just fall straight on to the ground, but instead it flowed really nicely. I’ll be keeping this robe forever that’s for sure!
Truth be told, I may or may not have teared up while reading this card from Luis on our wedding day. I also may have read it a few times… maybe not. 😉
Can I just point out how amazing Luis’ gift wrapping skills are?! This is why I had him wrap my bridesmaids gift boxes as well.
Did someone say Something Borrowed? It may sound funny but my something borrowed was my cousin Jessica’s hot pink socks. To some it may come as a surprise but those who know me know it’s actually quite genius! I have a long history of “borrowing” her socks and never returning them. As a matter of fact, this Something Borrowed is still sitting in my sock drawer now. It meant a lot to me that my cousin would give me this idea, and what bride wouldn’t want to wear hot pink socks with blinged out cowgirl boots?! It was awesome!
My Something Blue was a beautiful lace garter! It was the perfect way to add a little blue.
My Something New were these gorgeous Katrina Statement earrings by Kendra Scott! I bought these earrings the same day they were released and they went perfectly with my wedding dress.
My beautiful bridesmaids wore these monogrammed blush robes that I had special ordered for them. I wanted to give my bridesmaids a gift that they could wear on my wedding day and also anytime afterwards as well!
My grandma was the person that I asked to help me put my wedding dress on. I mean, it was only fitting, right?! (pun intended) This moment was as special as the movies make it seem. ♥
My Something Old were these blinged out gold Frye boots that my cousin Jessica gifted to me about 10 months in advance. They may not be super old but I sure wore these as much as I could before the wedding day because they instantly became my favorite boots ever! (peep the hot pink sock)
Now, on to the big moment… OUR FIRST LOOK! I don’t think he was nervous at all. 😉
I could truly feel just how much he loved me by the look in his eyes (and a tiny tear).
Praying before the ceremony was very important to us so I had my grandma say a quick prayer over us.
Looking at these photos of him and wondering how I got so lucky! He’s one handsome prince.
Now time for the veil… it’s almost time for the sunset ceremony!
WE DO! ♥
Our color palette? Gold, Coral, Ivory and Blush!
Alternative guest book? Yes, please! Luis and I never liked the idea of our guests just signing a book so we ordered this custom alternative guest book instead and it is now hanging up in our kitchen!
The end of November calls for a little bit of a breezy weather so we had some blankets for our guests to stay warm! It serves as a great keepsake as well. Our bridesmaid Monica made all of those beautiful bows! ♥
Luis’ aunt made some delicious Mexican pastries called Empanadas and our groomsmen packed them up for us in our custom pastry bags!
It’s not a celebration without some Koozies, right?! Texas + Me + Luis + Drink Holder = Cheers!
As you know, we are both Aggies so we made the Aggie ring the grooms cake! If this cake isn’t perfection then I don’t know what is. Gig ’em Aggies!
I had been dreaming of a sign like this before we even picked out our venue! Thankfully, I came across Beau Tied Affair and Sarah was able to craft this beautiful welcome sign for us! ♥
I envisioned what I would like our cake to look like in my head and Luis drew it on a piece of paper and we took it to our cake lady! This was our end result and seeing my vision come to life was better than I ever imagined!
Time for some PORTRAITS!
Sparks flew. ♥
version of reality, I’d find you and I’d choose you” It has always been and
will always be you.
And as my mother in law has said before… Y colorin colorado este cuento se ha acabado. ♥
